Brand new real estate licensees are required to take 14 hours of Continuing Education (CE) in specific, mandatory, Commission-approved courses during their first renewal cycle. Most continuing education classes do not meet the criteria for new licensee education; be sure to check with your school or local association to be sure you’re taking the right course(s). New licensees who obtained a salesperson license within 6 months of the renewal date (i.e., after December 1 in any odd-numbered year) are exempt from the CE requirement for that first renewal cycle.
Real estate licensees are required to complete 14 hours of CE credit by May 31 of every even-numbered year. Some of the hours must include the Required course, which covers a specific topic. Check with us for the required course information.
REALTOR® members are required to complete a minimum of 2.5 hours of approved Code of Ethics training every two years. Free, online Code of Ethics training↗ is available through the National Association REALTORS®, or you can take other courses locally or online.
